The death toll from this week’s Vaal scholar transport crash has risen to 14 after the death of two more children, Gauteng police said on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said the two pupils died in the early hours of Thursday morning.
“The 22-year-old scholar transport driver is now facing 14 counts of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent,” Masondo said.
The driver is expected to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
