South African-born prop WP Nel is one of four Scotland internationals set to join Edinburgh as they gear for Saturday’s United Rugby Championship clash against the Lions in Johannesburg.

Former Cheetahs stalwart Nel, along with lock Grant Gilchrist, hooker Stuart McInally and wing Darcy Graham, have joined the Scottish outfit’s touring squad in South Africa.

They were all rested for last weekend’s 21-5 win over the Sharks in Durban.

“It’s great all four guys have linked up with the squad here in South Africa. Their experience will be key as we prepare to face a really strong Lions team that is playing with confidence,” Edinburgh head coach Mike Blair said in a statement.

“We were obviously delighted with the win against Sharks on Saturday but it’s a new week and we’re now fully focussed on the task at hand. We’ve got a massive week of training ahead of us in Durban before travelling to Johannesburg later this week.”

Saturday’s match at Ellis Park kicks off at 16:05.
