Stage and TV actor Jamie Bartlett died in his sleep on Monday in Johannesburg. He was 55.
His partner Rosa Onious told Channel24 that he died of a cardiac arrest and that medical services “tried everything to resuscitate him, CPR, everything, but it was too late.”
The Rhythm City actor will be laid to rest at a private funeral ceremony with family and close friends in Cape Town on Wednesday, 1 June.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, 6 June, from 16:00 – 20:00 at Zone 6 Venue in Soweto.
“It will be open to the public as Jamie Bartlett was for the people and the people loved and appreciated him and his artistry,” reads a press release from his management team.
“The family would like to thank you all for the words of encouragement, thoughts, prayers, flowers, presence and the love you showed and showered Jamie with throughout his life and career.”
